HiTi 510S and HiTi 510L Printers with PT Booth Photo Booth Software for your Photo Booth

In the following article we will be covering the compatibility of two specific photo printers when used with our PT Booth Software.  

PRINTER: HiTi 510S

PRINTER: HiTi 510L
After many months of research experimenting with various printers we have found the HiTi 510L is a great match when used with our PT Booth Software.  In the demo video we are using the HiTi 510L, PT Photo Booth Software and the windows 7 operating system.





Tips when using the HiTi 510S and HiTi 510L printers with PT Booth

Tip 1 - When installing the HiTi 510S or HiTi 510L it is important to install the most up to date printer drivers. We have had a few reports from our customers stating that the HiTi 510S printer will not cut the 4x6 paper in half if when using the drivers that came on the printers installation CD.

In order to obtain the updated HiTi 510S or HiTi 510L printer drivers you must log on to HiTi website and download the new updated drivers. We installed the HiTi 510S onto a Windows 7 laptop and downloaded the updated driver (P510 driver_3.0.0.22.exe) from the HiTi website.  Once the updated driver was downloaded the printer was working without any problems.

Tip 2 - Our recent encounter with the HiTi 510S revealed another interesting fact.   For reasons unknown the HiTi 510S was not functioning correctly when installed on a Lenovo laptop. We tried all possible actions such as installing updated drivers and cleaning up unnecessary software from the laptop that could potentially interfere with the printer.  Unfortunately we just could not make the printer work properly when using the Lenovo laptop.

After our issues with the Lenovo we switched to an Asus laptop.  It took about 2 minutes to install the updated printer driver and it worked like a charm. 

The conclusion:  Apparently HiTi 510S does not function properly when installed on some particular computers for reasons currently unknown. We recommend buying a computer with the option to return it in case you encounter this problem.

Installing PTBooth 2011: Extra steps

 When installing 2011 VERSION (1.12.x) of Custom Photo Booth Software PTBooth  in addition to everything that you see in our Installation Demo Video below

There are extra steps not shown in the Installation Demo video but described in README file that are required for proper installation of 2011 version of  PTBooth.

1. You must create a Temp folder and specify that folder in the PTBooth Admin.  The name of the new folder does not matter. You must specify that folder in  "Temp directory" field




 2. Apply Skin and Screen Resolution.









Screen resolutions supported: 

Square: 800x600, 1024x768 
Wide: 1280x760, 1280x768

NOTE! When Applying Skin in PTBooth Admin CAMERA MUST BE CONNECTED!

As the technology changes around us old products are discontinued while new and exciting products hit the market. The key for those like us who depend on technology is to stay on top of these changes and adapt ourselves when necessary. This is exactly what has happened here at Photo Booth Experts.

Recently we at Photo Booth Experts began to add to our arsenal of photo booths. As we were constructing more of our booths we discovered that the Sony Printers we have been relying on and recommending to you for your photo booths have been discontinued. In fact, Sony has gotten out of the printer business all together. We continue to strongly recommend the Sony Printers but they will become more difficult to find as time goes on.

Upon hearing that Sony was getting out of the printer business we immediately set out to find a compatible replacement and we are proud to announce that we have done just that!

NOTE! At this time DNP DS40 will not work properly with the current portrait (2 photostrips) print templates. Only landscape templates are working with this printer due to the glitch in printer driver.


Our research has led two models that we feel are best suited for the photo booth applications.
Take a few moments to watch our online videos to see these two printers in action.

Shinko 2145


Both models are comparable in price to the Sony printers and roughly the same price. In addition they will cut individual strips giving you the authentic photo strip experience.

We would like to point out that these two printers worked well for us during testing and it is only our opinion that these printers will be the best replacement for the discontinued Sony printers. Ultimately in the end you will need to decide what printer is best for you.
